Neurungun 2013

Celebrating with Custodians the dawning of new cycles, new things, growth and the beginning of new ways in Caloundra... 27/9 - 6/10/2013@Kings Beach Q4551

Caloundra's Custodians teach us that G/Kalowendah Country includes all of the interconnected waterways, land, Peoples and all living things.

We invite you to share a milestone with our whole community. Join us as we learn from our Custodians for the first time how to understand, do and celebrate Neurungun: the arrival of the new annual cycles, a new growth season and the beginning of new ways.

Neurungun is a time for Wandiny (gathering) to do things, not to just spectate. Our community will be helping to drive the intense vibrations through Kalowendah Country for the entire Caloundra Fringe Festival and Caloundra Music Festival program.

Neurungun ways can be found everyday at fixed sites along the Kings Beach foreshore. Every day at the activity site in the Lions Park, there will be a full, evolving range of activities for all ages. Find a way to learn that suits you: weave, listen, draw, imagine, paint, dance, play, sculpt, move, shape, yarn and do the Neurungun 2013 story. Most activities are free. Some accept donations. All accept volunteers (is that you?). The Bush Tucker Café and other stalls will fill your senses. Interactive displays, story sites and our Walkabout Custodians will immerse you in the Kalowendah vibrations. Mid-week (Tuesday 1st October 2013), we’ll be having a full day on the foreshore and sending down the sun with yow'wah warai.

Caloundra’s whole Community gives thanks to its Custodians, volunteers, and Kabbarli HACC for their key role in driving this event.
